General station goals:

  1. Demonstrate ultrasound scanning safe practice (i.e. patient safety, machine safety, infection control, etc.)
  2. Discuss POCUS documentation practices (i.e. chart, discharge paper, Qpath, education paper)
  3. Demonstrate POCUS storage processes (i.e. patient identifiers, which button to press, etc)

Soft tissue station goals:

  1. Identify the anatomy of soft tissue with an ultrasound probe. Identify the soft tissue relationship to surrounding structures.
  2. Demonstrate understanding of the ideal probe(s) used to visualize the soft tissue.
  3. Generate and optimize the PEM POCUS views of the soft tissue demonstrating proper scanning technique
  4. Identify the structures of a normal POCUS soft tissue exam in each view.  Demonstrate where pathology is likely to be present.
  5. Discuss the types of soft tissue pathology identified by POCUS
