Introduction
This scenario will involve an adolescent who is suicidal and increasingly agitated while awaiting a psychiatry evaluation.
The goals of the scenario are:
- Demonstrate effective verbal de-escalation skills found on SickKids “De-escalation Tip sheet”.
- Demonstrate appropriate delegation of defined roles and specific tasks to local and code white team members.
- Demonstrate rapid medication management for an acutely agitated youth.
- Demonstrate safe application of 5-point restraints.
- Demonstrate 2-person standing and/or seated holds.
